Professional Background
Ray began his career in technology at an early age, establishing himself in the emerging field of information technology while still a teenager. After graduating from high school, he was recruited to teach computer applications for the Government of Ontario.
In 1996, Ray became an early pioneer in the web industry, developing websites and database platforms for a number of major brands during the formative years of the internet.
In 2000, Ray founded Gateseven Media Group Inc., the parent company of Radiant and Bark Communications. Over the past two decades, he has worked at the intersection of technology, branding and communications, helping organizations use creative strategy and digital tools to move their missions forward.
Along the way, Ray increasingly sensed that many organizations doing meaningful Kingdom work lacked the communications resources they needed to fully tell their stories. Radiant was created to help address that gap by coming alongside missionally-minded organizations with strategic communications, creative thinking and technology expertise.
Service Area
As founder of Radiant, Ray focuses on building partnerships with ministries and mission-driven organizations. His work centers on helping teams communicate clearly, steward their resources wisely and expand the reach of the Gospel through thoughtful strategy and creative execution.
Ray believes that communications and technology are not ends in themselves but tools that can be used to advance God’s purposes. Through Radiant, he seeks to serve organizations that are committed to sharing the Gospel, discipling believers and caring for the vulnerable around the world.
Personal Interests
Ray is passionate about seeing the Gospel reach people who have never heard it and about serving the world’s most vulnerable. Over the past two decades, he has participated in numerous international missions initiatives, often serving as a photographer and storyteller documenting the work being done in communities around the world.
He is also the creator of Glimpse of Infinity, a photography and writing project that explores the beauty of God’s creation and how it points to deeper spiritual realities. The project includes a daily email devotional that is sent each morning containing a photo, Scripture and prayers. Some of these prayers have also been developed into Bible reading plans on the YouVersion Bible App, allowing readers around the world to engage with Scripture through guided prayer and reflection.
Outside of ministry and work, Ray enjoys a wide range of sports and hobbies, including fishing, photography, baseball, hockey, foosball, table tennis, chess and volleyball — although, as he often jokes, the knees aren’t quite what they used to be.
Ray is also an avid writer. His first book, Dear Friends, Family, Neighbors, World…, explores the question: “If you had one last opportunity to speak to the people who matter most to you, what would you say?” The book was released as a free resource and continues to be widely shared.
His second book, unOblivious, is a photographic journal documenting stories and people encountered around the world and reflecting on compassion, faith and the image of God in every person.
